It’s Still Valid!
I was at work yesterday and one of the representatives needed help with a customer. The customer was offered an awesome deal well over 2 years ago and called in on yesterday to take advantage of it. The rep didn’t want to honor it because it had been over 2 years and we were really giving him A LOT. I looked through the account, read the notes, and I had to honor the offer. I let the customer know that the offer was still valid because we never gave him an expiration date! The offer was STILL valid! I thought about things that God has spoken to me years ago but I hadn’t exactly kept up my end of the bargain and I began to thank God because “the offer is still valid”! The things that God has planned for your life, the promises that He has given you are still valid! If you have not accepted Christ as your Savior, the offer is still valid…His hand is still extended. If God promised you peace, joy, prosperity, whatever it may be, the offer is still valid!!! Let’s get our lives in line with the will of God so He can honor His promises to us! The offer is still on the table, the choice to accept it is yours!
“For I know what I have planned for you, says the LORD. I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope. When you call out to me and come to me in prayer, I will hear your prayers.” Jeremiah 29:11 NET

Repaired or Replaced??
Hey Everyone! I pray that all is well for everyone! I missed talking to you! lol
I drove to Ohio a couple of months ago for my brother’s wedding. About a week and a half before the wedding I got a flat tire! Some of the men from my church changed the tire and put the spare on for me. I went to the tire shop to see if they could fix it. The guy at the shop said, “It can’t be fixed, it’s a wonder that it lasted this long!” What did he mean by that?! My car was just a little over a year old! The guy rolled the tire over to me and showed me this little rubber piece sticking out of my tire. I asked him what it was and he said “Looks like somebody tried to plug it.” I called my father and told him about the tire and he said that my tire had a flat when I was home 4 months ago and he put a plug in it. Why didn’t he just let me get another tire?! Here I am on my hour lunch break, with this ugly YELLOW spare on my car, trying to figure out if I had the money to get an0ther tire! The Lord said, “Some things need to be removed instead of repaired.” As Christians, we discover areas of our lives that are “flat”, areas in our lives that we have given over to sin. Those areas need to be removed not just repaired. For example: If you’re an alcoholic, you can stop buying alcohol or going to the bar but that is just a temporary repair you need to let God remove that bondage and replace it with a thirst for Him! So many times we stop doing things, but do we really seek God for deliverance?? That plug in my tire stopped the air from leaking out but my tire was still damaged and eventually the air leaked again. We find ourselves in the same situations over and over because we need to let God remove those things from our lives, we need true deliverance. Because I didn’t remove and replace the damage tire when I first noticed that there was a problem, I ended up exposed (the yellow spare was a clear indicator that something was wrong with my tire), I was frustrated (couldn’t believe my tire was flat AGAIN), and it ended up costing me more! Also, the people around me had to deal with my issue as well because I couldn’t change the tire on my own. Let’s make an effort to let God handle our issues so we don’t end up exposed, frustrated, paying more than we should , and becoming a burden to those around us. Give your issues and struggles to Jesus! You can’t handle them on your own! All you can do is try to plug and patch them but He can remove them and replace them with liberty!

Just A Flirt?!
Hey Everybody! I’m trying something new and blogging from my BlackBerry.
Hope this works out!
The other day, my friend and I were talking bout how much we hate
flirting. She began to tell me of countless times she’s been told what a
“great catch” she is or how lucky any guy would be to date her and after
all those compliments the guys never tried to pursue anything with her.
She said “You just have to realize that sometimes they’re just a flirt”.
I sat there thinking how ridiculous it is to tell someone all these
great things only to leave them feeling unwanted in the end. Why would
someone do that?! Instantly, I heard God say, “You’ve done that to Me”!
I began to think about all the times I told God how great He is, how
much I love Him, and how I don’t deserve His love but I never did
anything to pursue Him/His Will. I had to tell God that I was sorry for
all the times I showered him with empty words but didn’t work on my
relationship with Him. He’s worthy of so much more that vain flirtation.
He wants to be close to us. I encourage you all to build a deeper
relationship with God… don’t be “just a flirt”
Love you for real

Harvest or Seed?!
Happy 2009 Everyone!! I’m not a person that does New Year’s resolutions but you will definitely see more posts from me this year! Feel free to hold me accountable and shoot me an email (time4outpour@aol.com) if you notice an extended absence
!
Toward the end of last year, I was having a convo with a co-worker about giving to God. She was began to say how hard it is for her to give to God whether it be time, obedience or money. I thought back to my first job and how hard it was to give to God when I got my first paycheck. The reason it was so hard was that I was treating my money as a harvest and not a seed. I wanted to reap all the benefits right then and there. When my check wasn’t enough, I wanted God to make it more. The problem with that was, seeds produce more but once a harvest is gone…it’s gone! Although I was treating it as a harvest, I wanted it to do the work of a seed. Once my money was gone I was left with no harvest and no seed. I realized then that I was doing the same thing in other areas of my life. I wanted more anointing, more favor, more knowledge, more insight but I didn’t want to sow the time, the studying, and the prayer! I encourage everyone to examine your life and make sure that you don’t have any areas that you are harvesting but not giving anymore seed. Although you may want to reap the benefits of sleeping in late or eating delicious steak, start sowing some seeds of morning devotion and fasting this year. I promise it will make a HUGE difference.

I’m a Proud Supporter!!!!
Hey Everybody! I promised myself that I would blog one day this week and today seemed like a great day to blog! I’m sure you all know that Barack Obama was elected president on yesterday. Please keep him in your prayers as well as our current president.
Yesterday, was an interesting day. I started to get text messages at about 5a.m. reminding me to get to the polls. When I got to work, I had an email from my supervisor reminding how important it was to vote. Almost every conversation included a statement about how imperative it was that I not only cast a vote but cast a vote in favor of the right person. As the time neared for the polls to close, I got messages from several people making sure that I voted. Everyone knew that once the polls closed it would be too late to voice my decision. I was impressed by the fact that everyone recognized the seriousness of the situation and went out of their way to make sure everyone else recognized it too. As Christians, we should express that same vigor about supporting Jesus Christ! No matter what the outcome of the presidential election was, the fact still remains that there is only ONE way to salvation and that is through Jesus. It is imperative, in these last days, that people make the choice to accept Jesus as there Lord and Savior! If you have not voiced your decision to accept Jesus, I’m letting you know that I am a PROUD SUPPORTER of Jesus Christ and I can attest to the fact the His track record is unblemished and unbeatable!! It is important that you make a decision because tomorrow is not promised to any of us. The polls can close at any moment, please make sure you have voiced your decision (Romans 10:9-10) before it’s too late. For my fellow Christians, don’t tuck away your enthusiasm now that the election is over…. Get Out and Evangelize!

Hi everybody! Today is my off day so I decided to blog for a second. This morning I was thinking about my dad and how people always say we look like twins. My dad’s face lights up every time someone says that! I remembered when I got my first job, I was walking through the mall on my break and this lady walked up to me and asked me if I knew someone named Mathew. I told her that was my dad, and she started telling me how I look just like him then she said “You know you really look like somebody when people can see the resemblance even when they’re not with you.” As I said in my last post, our earthly fathers can teach us a lot about our heavenly father. A lot of us look like Christians when we’re at church, when we’re experiencing the potent presence of God but what do we look like when we leave that setting? Do we resemble God in our everyday lives? Can people look at our lives and tell that we are connected to God because we look so much like Him? Seeing how happy it makes my natural father to hear that we look alike, I can only imagine how God feels when He’s sees His children looking more and more like Him! Look at your own life, can you see the resemblance?!

Showroom Look….
Hey Everybody! It’s been a minute since I last blogged but I have been REALLY busy. I’ve relocated and gotten a new job (praise God)! Along with the new city and new job, I got a new car!!!! Those of you who know me well, know that that’s something to shout about! My dad bought my car in New Orleans and towed to me in Alabama. I often joke about how obsessed he is with the car, sometimes I think he loves it more than I do! The way that my dad acts in regards to my car has really taught me a lesson (earthly fathers can teach us alot about our Heavenly father). Every time I visit my dad or he visits me, his first act of business is something pertaining to my car. He’s either shining the tires, wiping down the windows, dusting off the car etc. One reason that my dad does that is because he was the one that saw the car when it was still on the showroom floor. His image of my car is still the perfect, undriven vehicle and he finds it necessary to remove anything that is preventing the car from looking like it did at the dealership. The other reason is that the car was my dad’s financial investment so he wants it to look its best. He is always trying to show me little ways to keep the car looking new. What I realized is that God is the same way. He is the one that knows what we are supposed to look like!! He knows how he made us! Sin, disobedience, pride, self-righteousness are things that prevent us from looking like we were created look; they are things that make us lose the beauty of the showroom floor. God is also the one who paid the cost for us, so He will always want His investment to look it’s best. The good thing is: a car can’t wash itself! Many people try to change themselves and fix themselves but that doesn’t work because that’s God’s job! So I challenge everyone to let the Father wash you and give you a good detailing. Let God restore the look of the showroom floor!

Am I Legend?
Hey everybody! I’m just sitting around today, not doing much so I figured I’d blog. Yesterday, was a pretty good day. I went to church and it was great! After church, I went to lunch and a movie. I went to see “ I Am Legend“. I know it came out a while ago but I usually wait until the movie gets to the dollar theater to go see it. “I Am Legend” was a pretty good movie. (Disclaimer: If you have not seen the movie, this post may spoils some parts for you”) In the movie, the world was infected by a virus that made people vicious and blood thirtsy. They no longer looked like humans, they were banished to darkness because exposure to the sun could kill them, and they killed every living thing they came in contact with. The majority of the movie is about this one guy who was immune to the virus. All of his loved ones were gone, anyone he came in contact with was infected and wanted to kill him, so he was basically all alone. How he handled the situation was really what stood out to me. He got up EVERY morning, went to his lab, and worked on a cure for the virus that had infected the world. He did this for YEARS! Even though he was lonely and always had to be prepared to fight for his life, he still pressed. He knew that the change that the world needed was in him and he was determined to manifest it even if it cost him his life! He was purpose-driven to say the least! I sat there and I had to ask myself “Am I that committed to my purpose and ministry to keep pressing when I am being attacked by EVERYONE? When I am totally isolated? Am I that bothered by this infected world that I will keep working to get them out of darkeness even when there’s no happy ending in sight?” We should all be that passionate and determined when it comes to our purpose and our commission! Ask yourself, how far are you willing to go?

Logging In or Downloading?
Hi everybody! It has been a few days since I blogged, but I am making efforts to blog more often. I was on Facebook yesterday. I had fun catching up with some people and checking out some of the new applications they have. Any application you want, Facebook probably has it! There is even a “Which Televangelist Are You?” application lol! As I was looking into the applications I noticed something. When facebook first started the whole crazy app movement, you would click on the app and it would give you the option to “download” but some of the new apps I looked at today said “log in”. When it gave the download option, I very rarely added any applications because “download” just sounded so permanent. “Logging in”, however, seemed better to me because I can just log out whenever I feel like it. I had a conversation with a good friend the other day, and he was telling me how the Lord showed him that he’s not a spiritual superman and things do affect him. A lot of us need to learn that same lesson. We think that sin doesn’t affect us as much as it does. When think that as soon as we take the last sip, as soon as we get out of the bed, as soon as we get to the end of the blunt, as soon as we finish gossiping that we just “log out” of that mess and go on with our lives. We don’t realize that we aren’t logging in and out but we are actually “downloading” things into our spirits. We can end up oppressed because we have downloaded the devil’s software into our spiritual hard drives. Downloading the wrong things can slow a computer down and evetually cause it to crash. The enemy wants to slow us down and prevent us from reaching our destiny and we can’t forget that his ultimate goal for us is to destroy us! Don’t allow him to cause your system to crash! Removal all of his data from your life! We all need to consecrate ourselves and devote ourselves to a lifestyle of holiness! Be encouraged!

What ya gon’ do?
Today I was just surfing the web and I ended up on a Christian discussion board. I usually don’t visit message boards too much because it’s usually a of bickering between alot of “deep” Christians and all their user names are something “spiritual” ending in the number seven( i.e. Anointed7, HisProphet77). This board in particular was on a evangelist’s website and it had the usual bickering but I noticed something else too. A lot of people on this site just wanted answers. I mean, they were asking questions about anything from deliverance and warfare to dream interpretations to parenting. As I’ve been praying about my purpose, it’s been really on my heart to have a place where people can go and get Godly counsel and insight. Seeing this site really hurt me because there are so many people asking questions and they are getting these ridiculous, random “pray with three rocks under your pillow” type answers. I sat there thinking, “Something really needs to be done!” and then I heard “What are YOU going to do?!”. This site just gave me an awareness of the need in the Body of Christ. People were asking for insight, deliverance, healing etc. and a lot of the gifts that people need are in our bellies. I’m really trying now to get things together and walk in purpose because the kingdom needs me. But I want YOU to know that the Body of Christ need YOU?! So… What ya gon’ do bout it?!

WHO am I hearing?
Today has been an interesting day to say the least! I’ve been working on an outline, doing some research, studying, talking to God, and talking to my mom. The Lord has still been talking to me about hearing. I was talking to God and I saw a tape recorder sitting in the middle of a large room. It was recording every voice in the room and when it was played back all I could hear was noise. The Lord said, “Too many voices.” If I placed a tape recorder in an auditorium full of people and recorded all the voices, it would be pretty much impossible to single out one voice. Many of us are doing exactly that, we are taking in many different voices and playing them back trying to figure out which one sounds like God! God is saying. “Seek me, directly”. Put your recorder directly under God’s mouth, and hear what He has to say. I ran across an article a couple of weeks ago, that said that many New Yorkers are going deaf because of the noise of the subways. There are so many voices talking in the subway that the noise levels exceed the level that is safe for the human. Daily exposure to those levels can lead to deafness. Listening to too many voices for too long can damage your hearing! Too many voices (opinions) can hinder us from hearing God effectively! I encourage everyone to seek God’s voice primarily…

Can you hear me now?
Hi everybody! It’s been a while since I wrote, I’ve been super busy lately and really haven’t had the time to just sit still and write anything. I have A LOT more time on my hands now so I’ll probably be writing more often. This week the Lord has been speaking to me about hearing His voice. He brought me back to when I was a teenager taking voice lessons. We have private lessons and then a group session. I always dreaded the group session because our instructor would not let us finish a song until every single not was correct. I always ended up sitting next to the same girl. She had a beautiful voice but she was slightly tone deaf. She would be CONVINCED she was on the right note but she was always a little bit off. Many of us dismissed her, we thought “If she can’t hear the note, she just can’t hear it”! That was the wrong attitude to have. I read this somewhere: “Tone deafness is does not refer to a problem with the ears, but to a lack of training.” This relates to the Body of Christ because many of us hear God’s voice we just can’t get in tune with it. We think we are following God’s voice then we realize He is one place and we’re somewhere else. We can suffer from spiritual tone deafness. The good news is tone deafness can be corrected with training! In this season God is calling us to sharpen our hearing skills. Get in His Word and learn how He sounds. If a stranger calls you on the phone you won’t recognize their voice because you never talk to them. When someone you talk to everyday calls, after one word you know who they are. We have to be the same way with God. We won’t be able to accurately identify His voice if we only talk to Him and read His Word every now and then. So I encourage (not matter how often you communicate with God) find time to do it MORE! Love ya 4 real! ~rach

It’s been a while…
Hey everybody! I know it’s been like 5 years since I last posted, I guess I really didn’t have much to say. I’m woke up early today so I figured I’d do a little blogging. This morning God told me to “fine-tune”. I looked it up so I could know exactly what it meant. Fine-tuning by definition is to make minor adjustments in so as to produce stability, improvement, or the precise results desired. I started thinking about when I was high school and different people I used to be close to. One friend of mine absolutely hated computers and typing so I always ended typing his papers after he wrote them. He didn’t know how to type so when he tried to do it he made ALOT of mistakes. We used to fuss at him because he would type out a whole word, then type the last letter of the word wrong and then erase the whole word and type it over just to correct the last letter! He wasted alot of time doing that. As started to think about that I realized that alot if us (especially in the Body of Christ) do the exact same thing. I know so many people who were walking with God and as soon as they fell they completely reverted back to their old ways and had to find their way back to God all over again! I’ve even done that myself. I was so disappointed about messing up, and I felt like my one mistake made me so far from God that I just stopped trying to be close to Him. When in actually, I wasn’t far from God when I fell… I became far from Him because I stopped trying. I erased the whole word, when all I had to do was fix that one letter that I messed up. We are all learning and in the learning process some mistakes are made. If you fall, don’t start walking backwards! Get up and move on from THAT POINT! Please don’t lose a whole word over one wrong letter, at that rate you’ll never finish the sentence. All you need to do is “fine-tune”! Love Ya 4 Real~ rach
